the new year, what will it bring

Today is the first day of the new year, yet it bothers me that i know starting tommorrow the cycle of killing will begin again. Dogs & cats in shelters across this country that people just didnt have time for anymore, but the list of animals is more than just dogs and cats. its rabbits young kittens and pups, parrots, horses, if an animal has become a pet, then it has also become indanger of dying
when its new owner gets bored with it, what was the death toll for 2007 will america increase it this year, i can only hope that instead more americans will become aware of the problems facing our pets and there offspring, by raiseing the levels of awareness, and education in this country will we begin to make a difference, ,,,

well i am somewhat disapointed tonight, i just found out that a local rescuer is nothing more than a hoarder, that tries bullying people into surrendering there animals to her,, this woman uses gospel verses on her emails as a intimidation tactic, she sends threatening violant emails to people, and her worst ploy is to threaten over and over that if you do not donate to her recue, she will then call the police on you for mistreating animals, now to make these threats is just bad press for all rescues, and we have enough of that already,, rescuers need to work together or the animals we are trying so hard to rehome will be the ones suffering,, we are in a catch 22 situation and even though they have made some headway we have to do oh so much better than this

well it is a new year, and we have relocated to Virginia, as soon as we find a home we will be bringing all of the chin kids and birds back to their new home and hopefully they will forgive us for leaving them in michigan with family and friends, but we are reopening the rescue and we are also going to be a sanctuary for chinchillas that cannot be placed up for adoption, all to often these fur babies are purchased without a thought as to the long term care they need, and the family interaction with them.
